The change was drastic... drastic. I mean, going from hearing us in part, haphazardly, to hearing us crystal clear... Also, we use it both for rehearsals and for live performances. Each one can program and customize their own mix independently. It is much more comfortable, it is practically as if you were playing at home and you take it to the live stage or rehearsal, maintaining exactly the same sound.

BassistThe challenge
Kubera, a metal band born in 2015 in Santiago de Chile, needed a live monitoring solution that would allow them to have control of their mix without depending on expensive equipment. In their live performances, they faced difficulties with the monitors of each place where they performed, such as lack of clarity or even in some more underground places they did not have any.
The group was looking for a solution that was portable, easy to integrate into their workflow, and that would allow each musician to adjust their mix in real time without external interference.
The solution
Upon discovering StageWave, they found an alternative that perfectly suited their needs. They implemented a flow based on duplicating all their signals, instruments, and voices, to have an internal copy for their monitoring and another for the venue's house mix. This way they can play anywhere with the same setup and monitoring experience they use in their rehearsals.
The final setup included:
- Audio interface: Focusrite Scarlett 18i20.
- Laptop: MacBook Pro 2012.
- Electro-acoustic drum module: Yamaha EAD10, which captures the kick, snare, and cymbals with built-in microphones.
- WiFi router: TP-Link with MU-MIMO technology.
- Sequences and clips: They are sent from the computer through an output of the interface and physically connected to an input of the same.
- iPhones: They all use iPhone as the experience was better than with some Android, they even use some old ones that they had unused, exclusively for this.
